Made to measure is technically defined as being something made to fit a particular person or space. This is a term commonly used in the suiting industry in reference to a process that consists of using pre-made patterns in order to cut and sew a custom garment. In other words, this is a standardized version of a custom process that allows for a shorter lead-time and more accessible price points.
The alternative to this process is something called bespoke, which involves drafting a custom pattern in addition to the cut and sew. As it stands, made to measure is offered through a variety of boutiques and big box retailers, but geared towards men. While there are several brands that offer a secondary women’s collection, the reality is the stocked patterns are either the same or very similar to the ones used for men. This means any customization requests that are specific to women become bespoke.
In order to offer an accessible custom service that is both fashion forward and functional, we developed a collection of patterns that offer a range of unique and feminine options. We also understand that options can be difficult to navigate, especially when it comes to tailored pieces. It is for this reason that visiting us for a consultation is an integral part of the process.
